ROLE PURPOSE:
Under direct supervision of Field Office In-charge, the Finance Officer is expected to perform financial duties around accounting cycle and internal control environment, including; to ensure accuracy of accounting records & system, adherence of organizational policies & procedures and to ensure compliance of statutory obligations.
S/he is expected to ensure that financial regulations and controls are in place at all times and all the financial transactions are administered, recorded and reported in accordance with both Save the Children and donor policies and procedures. The post holder will ensure that financial record keeping is accurate and meet the required standard.

Child Protection Officer – (200000DQ)
JOB TITLE: Child Protection officer
TEAM/PROGRAMME: Humanitarian emergency response for Burundi refugee
LOCATION: Kigoma region – Tanzania
GRADE: 4
CONTRACT LENGTH: 1 year, renewable
CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3: √ the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
Background
Due to political unrest in Burundi high numbers of refugees escaping into neighbouring countries of DRC, Uganda, Rwanda & Tanzania. The current Burundian refugee population in Tanzania is over 172,000 of which over 50% are children. SCI is implementing a child protection and education programme in refugee camps and wishes to scale up the response in refugee camps.

ROLE PURPOSE:Work closely with local implementing partners, SC Education staff, and members of the child protection sector working Group, UNHCR and other UN agencies, to ensure that the programme goals are achieved. Specific areas of concern are the provision of Child friendly space activities in refugee camps. He/She provides overall leadership at programme level for the sector, and ensures that SC vision and overall program goals related to the sector are met. He/She is responsible for providing managerial, technical, and administrative support to partner staff during the implementation of an integrated program. For purposes of ensuring healthy collaboration between SC’s response and other actors in refugee education/protection, the officer will actively participate in child protection-related activities and meetings in designated refugee camps.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Support the CP program to develop, implement and monitor quarterly, monthly and weekly activity plans to achieve expected results. This includes planning of activities, budgets and procurement.
Provide daily supervision and support to the CFS in the Camps and ensure the PSS activities are implemented in a quality and timely manner and ensure that the standards at the CFS are met.
Provide supervision and monitoring of the CFS Animators, guards and Cleaners and ensure proper performance Management.
Ensure proper documentation, registration and attendance of children and young people at the CFS is in place.
Plan, organize, coordinate and monitor child protection and PSS outreach activities at community level. Activities may include meetings and discussions with members of the community, parent meetings.
Plan, organize, coordinate and monitor community events to disseminate messages about child protection in the camps.
• Facilitate contacts with community groups and local associations.

ROLE PURPOSE: The driver is responsible for driving Save the Children staff adhering to Driver responsibility, guidelines, performing routine maintenance, assist on logistics activities as assigned by line manager and always making sure the vehicle is clean and in good condition. It is essential that the driver at all times demonstrates reliability, punctuality and discipline while performing his/her duties, has good communication skills and the ability to work on her/his own initiative in a timely manner. Save the children expects all staff members to have a high degree of professionalism in the workplace and commitment to fulfilling the rights of children.

SCOPE OF ROLE:Reports to: Logistics Officer
Dimensions:

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
To drive Save the Children passengers within Kasulu, Kigoma and the country as required, take proper care of assigned vehicles and the safety of the passengers at all times.
Carry out routine vehicle maintenance checks on a daily basis to ensure proper upkeep of vehicles and immediately draw the attention of the line manager of any damage or fault on the vehicle.
Carry out weekly maintenance checks on SC vehicles which includes: suspension, engine, gear box, alarm system, vehicle tools, battery, locks, brakes, clutch fluid levels, loose nuts and bolts on the vehicle, unexpected noises, fluid leaks under the vehicle and any damage to the body or interior parts.
Altering the Emergency Response Team Leader Field Manager. in time on the expiration dates of periodic servicing and maintenance of the vehicle in line with manufactures recommendations and SC transport policies and procedures.
Maintain the cleanliness of SC vehicles at all times, both internally and externally.
Drive in a safe and reasonable manner following the standard speed limits set by SC at all times and report an accident at the earliest opportunity.
Complete the logbook on a daily basis as per the transport Management handbook.
Responsible in making sure SC vehicles are fuelled on half tank basis and every month end the tank is full before commencing the next months log book.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of certificate in driving related course or basic vehicle mechanics.
At least three-year experience in the same or related position
Valid Clean Class C Driving License
Volunteering experience in an international NGO is an added advantage.
Strong interpersonal and team skills.
Experience in supply chain management in procurement, transport and distribution, warehouse and stock management.
Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.
Available for the full four month period.

Good communication in English.
